It was an interesting afternoon at Springbank on Friday 16th February when members of the Svaeveru choir from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration in Bergen came to visit their cask. The choir visits Campbeltown once every two years and always brightens up Springbank with their colourful uniforms and lively characters. This year, nine members of the choir arrived in Campbeltown in advance of the rest of the group and arranged a special surprise for their colleagues. When the choir arrived at their cask in warehouse number 3 at Springbank the smaller group - accompanied by Pipe Major Ian McKerral of the Kintyre Schools Pipe Band - jumped out from behind a row of casks, much to the delight of the rest of the choir. PM McKerral played a selection of tunes for the choir, including Campbeltown Loch I Wish You Were Whisky. After their visit to Springbank the group went on to Craigard House Hotel for their annual assembly and a night of debates, drinking whisky and a generally good time. I'm sure we're all looking forward to the choir's return in two years' time! Here are some photos from their visit.
